Great food for the price. Totally recomended. Tried orange and teriyaki chicken. Staff is nice. In short, it is a nice place in food court.

Food is blah and worse. Stay away from Pork - they are too lazy to cut off the connective tissue from rib meat. And they charge extra for it. Panda Express is much better and it isn't that good.

Nice little place for quick americanized Chinese food at the food court inside of City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City. It can get crazy busy here on the weekends but usually not too bad. Only 4 stars because the chicken dishes were a bit overcooked and tough on our last visit. Otherwise good times.

I didn't like the rice or noodles, but the rest were fine (tried sweet and sour, orange chicken, mushroom beef, teriyaki). For the price it's fine. Definitely better than the other Chinese food place in city creek. Americanized Chinese food!

It's what you would expect from a Chinese food place in the mall.. Start away from the BBQ pork.

A little too greasy and just whatever. I work in the building and there's better choices in that food court. If you're really craving Asian food maybe try it but you've been warned.

Come on yelpers... lets keep in mind what Chang Chun is. A fast food chinese restaurant. Even using the word restaurant is kind of a strech in my book... it's located in the food court of a huge mall. And for what it is, I think they do a pretty good job. The two entree meal is less than $7. Pretty standard - pick your starch and two dishes. I usually go with plain white rice (just my personal preference) with the mandarin chicken and general tso chicken - see photos of my lunch from today. I'm not going to overly critique the food because it is what it is... greasy, hot, delicious fast food chinese. I would recommend going as early as 11:15 for lunch because everything is coming out fresh and straight from the kitchen Extra points for actually having sriracha and GRILLED JALAPENOS by the cash register. Amazing.

Poor food selection, tried samples and the teriyaki chicken was very dry, could tell it was in the chafing dish pan way too long because it didn't hold its temperature. I asked a worker to get a more fresh off the grill that was right in front of her getting finished off but said it was against health department regulations. Lol. Poor excuse for a restaurant.

I really like this place. If you work downtown it's a good, quick option in the City Creek food court. They have traditional fast food Chinese like orange chicken, teriyaki (mandarin) chicken. Good egg rolls and sauces and my personal favorite, the occasional day when they have smoked sausage with peppers. I really enjoy the place.

Not good. The noodles were very greasy...the meat was fatty and there just wasn't that much flavor to the dishes we got. Too much grease!!!

I honestly never knew you could screw up Kung pao chicken. The food is greasy and honestly gives Chinese food a bad name.

The City Creek Food Court offers a plethora of options, much like your average mall's food court, and one would not be complete without a very average Chinese joint? Ding Ding Ding! City Creek has you covered with Chang Chun! While I mainly stick to the Subway, Bocata, and Taste of Red Iguana while I am getting lunch here, every now and again Chang Chun strikes my fancy. I don't know what it is, not enough visits to Panda Express growing up, or this inner desire to maintain the balance between my good and bad Chinese food karma, but I find myself craving Chang Chun while sitting in my office about once every month. They offer pretty standard food court Chinese fare, including: orange chicken, beef and broccoli, chow mein, fried rice, and you know... other things that people get... (basically your combination of stir fried [insert meat] with [insert vegetable]. Yeah... I stick to my combo of chow mein, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli when i come here, and then I douse it all with sriracha anyways. When I do order my combo plate, normally I am instantly full after consuming about 1/3 of it, and I intend on saving it for later, only to throw it out of my company fridge after about 3 days (because i forgot about it, my bad coworkers...). I actually realiy like Chang Chun, the quality of the food is pretty standard, but they do have good customer service, they try to offer seasonal fruit on the side of your meal, and I've noticed... they have pretty darn good fortunes in their cookies. My last fortune: "You will soon have the opportunity to improve your finances." I hope they do improve, you know, so that I eat better things than Chang Chun for lunch...

The best thing this location has going is the price. The price is good for a quick lunch; however, the quality is greatly lacking. The service is acceptable, not good but not bad. There staff seems to just do what is required, which for the price ($4.00 for a meal) is OK. The cashier attempted to overcharge me about $3.00 and when I pointed it out she kind of laughed it off like opps my bad. I feel like it was more of an intentional way to see if she could get away with it more then anything, as it was clear I was a tourist and an out of towner when I visited. The location is located in City Creek office tower right by Temple Square and if your not in a suit or Sunday clothes, it is pretty plain that you are a visitor. Would return here though if I wanted a quick $4.00 chinessess combo platter none the less.

Worst food ever! Tastes like an old grease bucket dumped over flavorless food. NEVER GO HERE! Couldn't even swallow this. Went to complain and the worker asked if I wanted heated up in the microwave!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
